The Navy commissioned its first unmanned aircraft system (UAS) squadron during an Oct. 18 ceremony at Patuxent River Naval Air Station, Md. The new Air Test and Evaluation Squadron will operate more than 23 fixed- and rotor-wing aircraft. The inventory will include the MQ-8 Fire Scout, RQ-20 Puma, RQ-21 Blackjack, RQ-26 Aerostar, as well as several commercial systems.
