Four persons were injured when an Air Force Pave Hawk helicopter crashed Aug. 18 near Nellis Air Force Base, Nev. The Las Vegas Sun reported that their injuries were not considered life threatening. The helicopter was attached to the Nellis-based 66th Rescue Squadron. They were taking part in a “Red Flag” exercise. Meanwhile, on Aug. 18, a Vietnam-era A-4 Skyhawk piloted by a civilian contractor also crashed at Nellis. The pilot ejected safely and was treated for minor injuries at a local hospital.
