The managers of the Armed Forces Retirement Home and its partners in the federal government are seeking private-sector input aimed at keeping the facility financially viable for the future.
The General Services Administration (GSA) teamed with officials at the home to sponsor an Industry Day at the Washington, D.C., facility, soliciting ideas for development of the 80-acre campus from more than 100 representatives from the real estate industry. A future plan would entail preserving the home’s historical buildings, while determining more effective use of the property. The home and GSA will host site visits for prospective developers, and an Industry Day in April.
