With the understanding that resupply and payload transport is currently among the most dangerous combat missions, QinetiQ North America hopes that the Pentagon will consider its Titan treaded unmanned vehicle as a solution. Built in conjunction with the Estonian defense company Milrem, Titan is capable of carrying an array of payloads. Using solely electric power, it has a range of more than 12.5 miles. Using a diesel/electric hybrid power plant, Titan’s range extends to 62 miles, with more than 72 hours of operation. It can adapt to modular payload configurations, including an earthmover, litter racks, weapons, or supplies.
