A joint raid on a Taliban site in Afghanistan’s Helmand province may have killed civilians, the Associated Press reported Feb. 12. Afghan officials and citizens who live near the area of the attack claim that 22 non-combatants — mostly women and children — died in the raid, which took place in early February. “We are working diligently to determine whether civilians were killed or injured as a result of U.S. airstrikes,” Navy Capt. Bill Salvin, a spokesman, said, according to AP.
