President Trump has nominated retired Marine Corps Lt. Gen. Randolph “Tex” Alles to serve as director of the U.S. Secret Service. Alles retired from the Marines in 2011, concluding a 35-year career. Since then, he served as the chief of air and marine operations for U.S. Customs and Border Protection. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University and a master’s degree in National Security and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College.
