River May Close to Boats While Trump Plays Golf

The Coast Guard may close a stretch of the Potomac River to boaters while President Trump plays golf, the Washington Post reported July 17. If approved, the closure would affect boaters who ply the river roughly 30 miles northwest of the White House, adjacent to the Trump National Golf Course in Sterling, Va. The area is a favorite among kayakers in particular, the Post reported. The Coast Guard has been mum on specifics, other than to say that they were considering establishment of a security zone in the Potomac near the golf club. The White House and Secret Service declined to comment.
