Service members, retirees and other beneficiaries will have from Nov 11 through Dec. 10 to examine their TRICARE coverage and cater it to their needs for next year.
TRICARE Open Season is your chance to review your options and make any changes to your health plan for 2025,” said Zelly Zim, senior policy analyst for TRICARE at the Defense Health Agency (DHA). “It is important to understand what’s different this year, compared to past open seasons, and to ensure your coverage continues without interruption.”
Beneficiaries covered by: TRICARE Prime; U.S. Family Health Plan; TRICARE Prime Remote; TRICARE Prime Overseas; TRICARE Prime Remote Overseas; TRICARE Select; and TRICARE Select Overseas should pay attention to the open season and make their appropriate changes if necessary.
Options for beneficiaries include staying in the same plan, enrolling in a new one, or changing the plan they have. In some cases, those who wish to stay in the same plan may still have to take some action to ensure their coverage continues unabated. Changes can be made through the Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System. Personnel offices can provide more details. Changes can be made online at milConnect, through Beneficiary Web Enrollment.
The open season doesn’t apply to active duty service members, as well as beneficiaries covered by: TRICARE for Life; TRICARE Reserve Select; TRICARE Retired Reserve; and TRICARE Young Adult.
