TRICARE Open Season, the annual window during which TRICARE Prime and TRICARE Select beneficiaries can change their health-care coverage options, began Nov. 9 and extends through Dec. 14.

The Open Season does not affect beneficiaries covered under TRICARE For Life, Retired Reserve, Reserve Select, or Young Adult plans.

Beneficiaries also can see if they are eligible for coverage under the Federal Employees Dental and Vision Insurance Program (FEDVIP).

TRICARE beneficiaries fall into one of two groups: Group A or Group B

• You’re in Group A if your initial enlistment or appointment or that of your uniformed services sponsor began before Jan. 1, 2018.

• You’re in Group B if your initial enlistment or appointment or that of your uniformed services sponsor began on or after Jan. 1, 2018.
