Trump Would Bar Firms from Hiring Procurement Pros

President-Elect Donald Trump has made clear his distaste for defense contractors’ practice of hiring former military procurement officials. The news agency Reuters reported Dec. 9 that Trump told an audience in Baton Rouge, La., he would consider banning such hiring. He said he believes the practice is at least partially responsible for huge cost overruns that beset many defense contracts. Procurement experts generally disagreed with Trump’s idea, saying it would hurt companies’ ability to attract the talent they need.
