Veterans who otherwise could face foreclosure or eviction because of the Covid-19 pandemic now will have more time to get their affairs in order. The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) announced that the moratorium on foreclosures and evictions has been extended through July 31.

VA also is encouraging beneficiaries who are beset with Covid-related financial issues to take advantage of its VA Partial Claim Payment program – a short-term assistance plan.

Even after the moratorium extension ends, VA plans to “take additional steps” to prevent foreclosures of homes financed with VA home loan guarantees.
