Federal Manager's Daily Report

The National Science Foundation has selected winners in the first round of its Career Compass Challenge, whose goal is to leverage technology to “make education and lifelong learning an ordinary part of federal employment, enabling opportunities for mobility and advancement throughout one’s career.”

The winning submissions involved: creating “a GPS for learning and work”; “employee training and growth through electronic games”; “my career compass”; “an integrated service platform for preparing the future workforce”; and a “career charting app.”

The second phase, open through August 31, is inviting submissions on how to build on those concepts to develop a working prototype for government testing and evaluation. The first-round winning submissions and information regarding the second round are at https://challenge.gov/a/buzz/challenge/86/ideas/top#challenge-summary.
