Federal Manager's Daily Report

The federal Chief Data Officers Council, created last year under the Foundations for Evidence-based Policymaking Act, has launched cdo.gov, joining a list of C-Suite level councils with an online presence describing their focus areas and acting as a repository for policies, studies and other resources.

“The council’s vision is to improve government mission achievement and increase the benefits to the nation through improvement in the management, use, protection, dissemination, and generation of data in government decision-making and operations,” it says.

The initial list of focus areas includes federal data strategy, covid-19 data coordination, data skills development, data inventory and data sharing—a list that the site says “is expected to grow as the council develops and will evolve as the needs of the CDO community change.”
