OPM has made available to agencies a free web-based course for aspiring and current executives titled Maximizing Employee Engagement, which it said is “designed to help educate and provide federal leaders with knowledge and strategies to successfully support employee engagement – an objective consistently shown through workplace studies as a critical enabler of organizational success, financial performance, and positive human capital management outcomes in critical areas including recruitment and retention.”

The course is designed both for SES candidate development programs and continuing development programs for current executives, it said.

According to a memo to agencies, the course was developed “as part of OPM’s strategic commitment to help agencies create inclusive work environments where the workforce is fully engaged, and in support of the President’s Management Agenda People and Culture pillar.”
