Federal Manager's Daily Report

GSA has issued a request for information from industry on how technology business management can be applied across the federal government, saying it would produce “a standardized view of IT spend and provide greater transparency into how the federal government invests in IT products and services.”

The President’s Management Agenda’s cross-agency priority goal of improving outcomes in federal IT spending Transparency sets a goal of adopting TBM by 2022, it added in an announcement.

In conjunction with OMB, GSA is seeking information from industry regarding software solutions that “can efficiently aggregate and analyze data across the federal enterprise and/or services that support the preparation and adoption of standard taxonomies in large organizations to facilitate TBM implementation.”

“Through adopting TBM, federal agencies will improve business, financial, and acquisition outcomes; enable federal executives to make data-driven decisions and analyze trade-offs between cost, quality, and value of IT investments; and enable IT benchmarking across federal agencies and with other public and private sector organizations,” it said.
