GSA has issued a request for information seeking feedback from industry as the next step toward a consolidated multiple awards schedule solicitation, which will combine the current 24 MAS into one single schedule for products and services by October 1.
The consolidation is part of GSA’s federal marketplace strategy seeking to modernize and simplify the acquisitions process with easy to understand terms and conditions, said GSA.
“We’ve worked to remove legacy, duplicative, and unnecessary clauses so that it’s easier to buy and sell with the federal government. Our goal is to reduce the administrative burden for all who interact with GSA schedules, and this RFI will allow us to further hear from industry on the needs of today’s buyers and sellers,” administrator Emily Murphy said in announcing the RFI.
“The new schedule will be organized by categories mapped to the current governmentwide category structure. GSA is reviewing all of the special item numbers currently available under GSA schedules; once complete, the new proposed SINs will be available for public comment,” the announcement said.
