Federal Manager's Daily Report

The House Transportation Committee has approved HR-2502, to require greater transparency on spending on federal buildings by requiring the GSA to publish on its site all prospectuses for leasing, design or construction activities on which reporting to Congress is required.

The GSA would have to update that information quarterly and maintain it for at least 10 years in a readable, accessible and searchable format, along with information on congressional approval of those projects.

“While GSA does publish some of this material on its website, the information is difficult to access and not updated regularly,” says a committee report on the bill, which is now ready for a House vote when Congress reconvenes in September.
