Federal Manager's Daily Report

The House Oversight and Government Reform Committee has approved:

HR-2846, to broaden the authority of agencies to seek voluntary feedback from members of the public regarding their interactions with those agencies, by creating an exception to the Paperwork Reduction Act that currently is seen as limiting such solicitations. Agencies would use standards to be set by OMB regarding service satisfaction, timeliness and professionalism, would post annual reports of the findings on their websites.

HR-4809, to require that agencies post on their sites all existing and new guidance documents that impose certain obligations on individuals, businesses or other parties but that did not go through formal rule-making procedures involving notice and an opportunity to comment.

HR-1376, under which the National Archives and Records Administration would set policies requiring agencies to capture, preserve and make electronically searchable email and other forms of electronic communications that fall under the definition of federal records.
