The MSPB has put out a call for suggestions for topics for it to research, as it is drafting a new research agenda for 2020 and beyond.
“MSPB conducts studies of the executive branch workforce to ensure that federal personnel management is implemented consistent with the merit system principles and free from prohibited personnel practices. Most of those studies are drawn from a multi-year research agenda that MSPB develops after reviewing suggested topics from the public,” it said in a Federal Register notice.
It asked for suggestions in response to the following questions and “other pertinent ideas”: is the most important issue affecting the management of the federal workforce; what is one thing in the federal workplace that should be done more fairly; what is one thing in the federal workplace that should be done more efficiently or effectively; and what research on federal employment issues could the MSPB conduct that is distinct from previous research by other agencies or good-government groups.
