The Office of Personnel took part in the Federal Emergency
Preparedness Agency’s continuity of operations manager trainings
in Boston July 13 – 15 and will do so again July 20 — 22 in New
York City, in anticipation of the political conventions in each
city.
“Managers have a fundamental responsibility to protect and
educate their workforce. In an effort to ensure agencies are
prepared, OPM has hosted six emergency preparedness forums to
date in Washington D.C., New York City and Boston. The FEMA
trainings are another opportunity to get the message out and
to reinforce and expand upon the groundwork we have established,”
said OPM.
It said FEMA’s new national training course is intended to
provide guidance on maintaining essential functions in the
event of an emergency, and that its own role would be to
provide the human capital component and expertise in support
of FEMA’s COOP training efforts.
