Federal Manager's Daily Report

Government-wide results of the 2018 Federal Employee Viewpoint Survey show improvements in employee views of a number of indicators of how well their workplace is run. These include:

* Managers communicate the goals of the organization, 64 percent positive vs. 62 percent in 2017 and 58 percent in 2014.
* Employee satisfaction with their involvement in decisions that affect their work, 54 vs. 53 and 48.
* Employee satisfaction with information they receive from management on what is going on in the organization, 51 vs. 50 and 46.
* People in the workplace cooperate to get the job done, 76 vs. 75 and 72.

Holding steady in the past year but still up over the last five years were:

* Employees’ training needs are assessed, 55 in 2018 vs. 55 in 2017 and 50 in 2014.
* Employees understand what they had to do to achieve ratings at difference performance levels, 71 vs. 71 and 67.
* Employees believe their performance appraisal is a fair reflection of their performance, 71 vs. 71 and 68.
