Bonuses for Cost Savings Proposed

Legislation (S-1830) offered in the Senate would allow the payment of awards up to $10,000 to employees who identify waste, fraud or mismanagement of the funds, or unneeded funds. Of the savings from such suggestions, 90 percent would have to be returned to the Treasury and the remainder after payment of the bonuses would be available for other agency priorities. Agency CFO offices would oversee the program.
