The U.S. Office of Government Ethics has started mailing a survey to about 7,500 federal workers to collect information about their awareness of the government’s ethics program and their attitudes toward ethics issues in their agencies. Ethical rules govern such things as receiving gifts from private industry companies, as well as post-government employment. The survey, which is being administered by a contractor, does not ask for information that would reveal employees’ identities or even their agencies.
