FLTCIP Open Season Almost Over

The open season in the Federal Long Term Care Insurance Program, which has been running since July 1, ends December 31. While the Office of Personnel Management has said there will be future open seasons, it has said they won’t be held on a regular basis. Since OPM will effectively had to conduct two FLTCIP open seasons, counting a special March-May early enrollment period, in 2002 and will have to conduct two open seasons for the upcoming flexible spending account program in 2003-a special one in May for enrollments covering the last six months of the year and a regular one in the autumn covering calendar year 2004-it’s unlikely that there will be another FLTCIP open season in 2003.
