New Per Diem Rates Set, Effective in October

GSA has updated the per diem rates for federal travelers effective October 1, increasing the standard lodging rate for destinations without specific lodging rates from $91 to $93 a night, while leaving the standard “meals and incidental expenses” portion at $51.

For locations with specific rates, the M&IE portion will continue to range between $54 and $74 in $5 increments, while the lodging rates will range up to $424 in Aspen, Colo., December 1-March 1; it will be $377 in Telluride and $370 in Vail during that period.

Other top lodging rates will include Martha’s Vineyard, Mass., $322 June-September; Santa Monica, Calif., $307 July-August; San Francisco, $302 in October and next September; Nantucket, Mass., $300 June-September; Key West, Fla., $294 February-April; New York, $291 October-December and next September; and Boston, $287 October-November.

The rate for Washington, D.C. will range seasonally from $175 to $253 a night.

No locations were added to the list of those with specific rates while 14 were dropped and will now use the standard rates: Redding, Calif.; Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Bonner’s Ferry/Sandpoint, Ind.; Dickinson/Beulah, N.D.; Watertown, N.Y.; Youngstown, Ohio; Enid, Okla.; Mechanicsburg and Scranton, Pa.; Laredo, McAllen, Pearsall and San Angelo, Texas; and Gillette, Wyo.
