On the 20th anniversary of the USAJOBS site, OPM has updated the site, including adding information specific to current federal employees looking to change jobs within the government. The site contains new material aimed at giving applicants a better understanding of how vacancies may be limited to those who already have career status (or reinstatement rights, after a RIF for example). It also features fuller explanations of other special hiring policies such as veterans preference, a new home page to encourage users to create a profile, and information designed to simplify the application process. OPM says there are now some 11 million accounts on USAJOBS, with 16 million resumes posted, 1 billion job searches conducted annually, and more than 14,000 jobs posted per month.
