Do FEGLI benefits carry over when you postpone your FERS retirement?

I am planning to retire at age 56 (MRA +10) and postpone my retirement until age 60 to offset some of the early retirement penalty. Will I be able to continue paying for FEGLI during this postponement? If not, will I have to take a health physical to become eligible to restart FEGLI?

You will be eligible to convert your FEGLI to a private policy if you wish some life insurance. If not, it will terminate upon your resignation at your MRA and you will be able to pick it upon again when you elect your pension to begin at age 60.
