Health benefits for contractors?

I work as an intern for NPS through the Greening Youth Foundation. I believe that the contract is with them and then I am subcontracted. An executive order by Obama says federal contractors are entitled to paid sick leave. Am I covered? Should I be compensated for health insurance?

You are NOT covered by FEHB, the health insurance that federal employees are entitled to. You should inquire as to your coverage with the contractor for whom you are subcontracting. My understanding is that “employees” of contractors are entitled to benefits, but sub-contractors are not – so don’t expect to find that you are covered.

Thanks! I finally figured it out. I am a corpsmember, and GYF would need to apply for the Corps Network insurance. I am thinking about asking them to enquire about this. I am above the age range of interns they usually take. I can’t go on my parent’s insurance plan anymore.
