Let me post a related if VERY different question and answer. As some one who has a 40% position of my TSP porfolio in L2050, I don’t need to cash out for my current retirement expenses. I look forward to the maturing of L2020 as it is when L2060, L2025, L2035, L2045, and L2055 will be created at an IPO of $10.00 per share. The question is do you keep your money in the TSP after retirement and the answer is that everyone’s situation is unique. But I have not found a better investment and savings vehicle than TSP in comparison to my positions in Fidelity, Vanguard and individual DRIP stocks. This is the advice I shared with my co-workers when I recently left federal service.
