Irregular, unscheduled overtime authorized under 5 U.S.C. 5545 (c)(2) for law enforcement officers, limited to a maximum of 25 percent of the rate of basic pay for the position (administratively uncontrollable overtime) is used in the computation of the high-3 average salary. Blocked by moderator
<p>Correct, and as I stated in the last comment in this section, you can be authorized AUO however, according to the CSRS FERS Handbook, the Code of Federal Regulations, and Title V, I can find no authority permitting AUO for non-LEOs to be used in calculating the high-3 average salary. </p>

You will need to be more specific on what position and authority you are inquiring about. Overtime, as a rule, is not included in the computation of your high-3 average salary. Blocked by moderator

Thank you for your quick response Ma’am.I was authorized and approved thru my unit’s Command staff and appropriate HR channels for Administratively Uncontrollable Overtime due to my work’s requirements. I was not law enforcement. I was a GS position. AUO is clearly listed on my pay statements. I am trying to work with the Retirement Operations Center at Boyers, PA to review/audit my pay records and adjust my retirement to no avail. Made a trip to DC to try and work this out but was referred back to Boyers, PA, Submitted a handwritten request again while at DC. Boyers, PA keeps on referencing “regular” overtime. Trying to work within the system but it is very frustrating. Suggestions or recommendations ? Thank you in advance. Respectfully Blocked by moderator

Your original question was is AUO used in calculating the high-3 and the response was yes, if a Law Enforcement Officer. The following link: https://www.fedweek.com/retirement-financial-planning/what-counts-toward-high-3-and-what-doesnt/ also shows only for LEOs. I have also searched Title V and the CFR to confirm AUO is payable to employees however, I cannot find anything that says because one collects AUO it is used in the computation of the high-3 except for Law Enforcement.
