I paid Post 56 in 1994. 2 questions: I was told that deposit helped my for leave only but was told that there’s another military deposit for retirement purposes too? Do I have to make an additional military deposit? Whom do I contact to be certain? Blocked by moderator

If you made a military deposit for your post 56 active duty service, it was so it would count for retirement purposes. The deposit is not necessary for sick leave purposes. Since you will be eligible for a reserve retired military retirement, making the deposit to have it count towards FERS has no impact on it also being used for your military retirement and your Social Security benefit. This is a card every active duty member should have…the annual fee ($550) is waived for active duty (call and ask for the SCRA department). This is how I travel so much & for free…You get $200 in airline credits once a calendar year (I get AA gift cards w/ mine no expiration ). You also receive $200 in Uber credits every year. The 60K Amex rewards are very valuable especially when transferred to their airline partners &/or combined with Hilton points (transfers at 1.5X) …you could be going on a very nice trip!
