Rehired Annuitant, former law enforcement-mandatory retirement

If I were rehired as a federal employee, would this have any effect on my annuity since I was forced out due to my age (57)? Is it better to retire than get rehired or transferred to a different position before you retire?

I apologize but I do not fully understand your question. Have you retired? You use the term forced but no one is forced to retire. If you are, for example, a law enforcement officer or fire fighter, there is mandatory retirement in that position but does not stop someone from transferring to another non-covered position and when they do decide to retire, will still be eligible to collect the enhanced computation. Please let me know. Thank you.

If you are approaching mandatory retirement, you can move to a non-covered position for which you are qualified and work until you elect to retire. As long as you meet the age and service retirement for the special provision retirement, it will still be calculated using the enhanced computation.
If you retire and return as a reemployed annuitant, your new position will require your salary be offset by your retirement. If you get a position outside of the government, it will not reduce your salary but could reduce your supplement.
