What is the formula used to calculate survivorship?

Divorce in progress – I have 30.6 yrs of fed svc; 10 years was married. How much is my spouse eligible for (monthly basis) – I declared 25% survivorship as well. What is the formula used by OPM to decide what his portion will be? Can I remove the 25% survivorship if court awards spouse monthly payments from my annuity?

There are a couple of issues in your question. If you are married and are submitting your retirement application, you are required by law to elect a full survivor benefit for your current spouse unless he will sign and notarize the appropriate form, SF-2801-2 if CSRS or SF-3107-2 for FERS. Without his notarized signature, you will be required to leave him a full survivor benefit. If you are divorced at the time of your retirement, the Court Order Acceptable for Processing, COAP, will state what, if any, will be provided to the former spouse. OPM does not award or calculate apportionments or survivor benefits in the case of a divorce.
