Soldiers Will Continue To Train

The Army’s senior officer wants soldiers to continue to train and maintain readiness, while taking every possible precaution to avoid the spread of the COVID-19 virus. “We need to make sure that our Army is ready to go to war. We have an obligation to do that, so they will continue to train,” Gen. James McConville, the chief of staff, said during an April 16 press briefing, according to the Association of the U.S. Army (AUSA). Soldiers will don masks or other protective gear and stand six feet apart. They also will be screened for the virus often.
