Air Force Announces New Online Classification Submission Process

The Air Force Personnel Service has announced that hiring officials can now track classification requests in real time through its myPers website. It said a new classification submission process – originally implemented for Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System employees – is being used for position review and position establishment classification actions.

With the previous process, a manager would have to contact the local civilian personnel section, then CPS created a request for personnel action using the Defense Civilian Personnel Data System and submitted the request to the AFPC classification team. Once the request was logged, classification specialists began the multi-step classification process.

Under the new process, managers go to myPers at https://mypers.af.mil, and enter "25121" or "classification" in the search window and follow instructions, then can review the real-time status of classification requests online.
