Citing a fraught budgetary environment, GSA has canceled its 2013 expo and training conference that had been set to take place in Orlando.

After reviewing the projected spending and attendance for this year’s conference, GSA – still reeling from a scandal over wasteful conference spending and in the shadow of possible sequester-budget cuts — said it would suspend the expo in an effort to use resources more responsibly.

The agency will look more to online and virtual training resources, as well as classroom training closer to individual agency locations, including Interact (free on demand and webinar training), training through GSA.gov (free on-demand, webinar and classroom training on a wide array of topics and offerings), and GSA local customer service directors that can offer local training for federal organizations.
