GSA Touts Transportation Audits

GSA has produced a fact sheet touting its transportation audit services as a potential money-saver to agency management and noting that such scrutiny is required and additionally is one of the administration’s management priorities. Prepayment audits of transportation billings are required by law and allow agencies to avoid excess transportation charges up front, while postpayment audits are mandatory under GSA policy and validate bills while discovering gaps and discrepancies in billing and in agency prepayment audits, GSA says. Other services of the GSA transportation audits division include collection of overcharges, adjudication of claims and handling litigation for federal agencies, it says.
