GSA has awarded fiscal 2018 contracts under its City Pairs air travel program, which offers discounted rates for official travel under pre-negotiated fixed price rates.

It said the discounts averaging 53 percent will save agencies some $2.44 billion in airfare costs while providing the government “maximum flexibility in how it books air travel, with benefits including no cancellation or change fees.” Average domestic fares will be $227, up $2, and average international fares will rise from $724 to $742.

Eight major U.S. carriers were awarded contracts effective October 1, which are based on criteria including availability of non-stop service, total number of flights, flight availability, average elapsed flight time, availability of jet service, and price of service.”

Rates are on the GSA site.
