Federal Manager's Daily Report

New City Pairs Contracts for Air Travel Issued

GSA has issued new city pairs contracts for federal employee air travel effective October 1, a program in which airfare rates for official travel by federal employees to some 16,000 markets are pre-negotiated at fixed rates that are nearly 50 percent below commercial rates.

Seven carriers–Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, Breeze Airways, Delta Air Lines, JetBlue Airways, Southwest Airlines, and United Airlines–received contracts based on criteria including the government’s past travel bookings and passenger volume, availability of non-stop service, total number of flights, flight availability, average elapsed flight time, and price of service.

That is down by two from the fiscal 2025 program, with Hawaiian Airlines and Silver Airways no longer in the program for fiscal 2026.

In addition to the negotiated discounts features include no cancellation or change fees, no blackout dates, no minimum or maximum length of travel requirements, full refundability, and last-seat availability.
