The latest quarterly update on the President’s Management Agenda highlights steps to speed up the hiring process and make it more transparent.
In the former category, it cites the launch of five pooled hiring efforts to support multi-agency hiring and the issuance of guidance and competency models “to help agencies identify the AI skills and abilities needed within civil engineering. This will ensure the government has the AI expertise needed for critical infrastructure projects.”
Regarding transparency, it cites the launch of a time to hire dashboard on the OPM data portal and the development of a customer experience steering committee “to define an enterprise CX and digital experience strategy. The committee will work to develop a plan for how OPM will improve the overall experience for agencies, employees, and applicants.”
Other actions by OPM under the “strengthening and empowering the federal workforce” PMA priority included guidance on allowing employees to use leave and other flexibilities in response to harassment or domestic violence and updating competencies for HR work in general and for certain responsibilities.
