GSA has revised the sections of the Federal Property Management Regulations dealing with management and disposal of excess federal property with special handling requirements, such as hazardous materials.
Final rules published in the February 10 Federal Register affect electronic products, medical devices, perishable items, precious metals, surplus drugs, medical devices, vehicles not suitable for highway use, ammunition and firearms, and other items. Many of the affected items are subject to controls by other federal agencies such as DoD and the FDA, GSA noted.
