The National Institute of Standards and Technology has releasedthe first version of an open source mobile app vetting system.
AppVet was designed to help app vetting workflow with a graphical user interface for submitting and testing apps, accessing reports, and assessing risk. The system can be used to generate an overall report and risk assessment.
“AppVet is designed to easily and seamlessly integrate with a wide variety of third-party tools including static and dynamic analyzers, anti-virus scanners, and vulnerability repositories through the specification of simple APIs and requirements,” according to NIST.
