VA Launches Identify Theft Website

The VA has announced the launch of an identify theft website to help educate veterans as part of a new campaign to raise awareness and prevent theft.

The website – www.va.gov/identitytheft – was launched by VA’s IT office, features educational information, interactive multimedia and links to other online identity theft prevention resources.

Educating veterans – or in the case of agency websites, employees – on the basics of good Internet hygiene (strong, unique passwords for all accounts, for example), can go a long way toward guarding against threats.
