OPM has set up a toll-free number, (800) 307-8298), and a website, www.opm.gov/CaliforniaFires/ to provide information to employees and annuitants in areas of California affected by the wildfires regarding delivery of benefits, health insurance, pay and leave issues, teleworking, and disaster assistance. OPM also suggested that employees consider contributing to organizations that are providing relief through the Combined Federal Campaign. Meanwhile, GSA has issued a waiver of certain travel policies, authorizing reimbursement of actual expenses rather than at standard per diem rates for employees traveling to the affected area, either for temporary duty or for relocation. The policy is effective through January 24 unless revised.
