On the Senate side, the leading advocate of civil service reform in recent years, Sen. George Voinovich, R-Ohio, is set to take over the Governmental Affairs Committee’s government management subcommittee; that subcommittee might also absorb some of the civil service oversight duties of the federal services subcommittee. Sen. Ben Nighthorse Campbell, R-Colo., is in line to take over the Senate Treasury-Postal appropriations subcommittee.
