The OMB document also provides guidance to agencies for taking disciplinary action on grounds of misusing the cards or problems with delinquency in payment. In such cases, it said, agencies should: initiate verbal counseling and warning; provide written warning; suspend or revoke charge card privileges; suspend or revoke the employee’s security clearance; include the misuse or delinquency in the employee’s performance rating; suspend or terminate employment; ensure consistent enforcement of penalties; and publish the actions taken.
