Funds Spring Forward in March

The TSP’s stock funds posted strong positive returns in March, although each is still down for calendar year 2009 and over the last 12 months. The large company stock C fund gained 8.81 percent, the small company stock S fund gained 8.64 percent and the international stock I fund gained 7.2 percent for the month, although they are still down by 38.01, 38.97 and 46.4 percent, respectively, over 12 months. The bond F fund gained 1.38 percent and the government securities G fund gained 0.24 percent in March, for 12-month gains of 3.25 and 3.49 percent, respectively. The March and 12-month returns for the lifecycle funds: income, 2.06, -5.8; 2010, 2.82, -10.74; 2020, 5.35, -24.04; 2030, 6.3, -28.96; 2040, 7.08, -33.16.
