Leave Improvement Bill Planned

The head of the House federal workforce subcommittee, Rep. Danny Davis, D-Ill., is considering offering legislation that would provide federal employees with eight weeks of paid leave for the birth or adoption of a child and four weeks of paid leave for elder care or the serious health condition of a spouse or child. His plan also would increase from 22 to 25 the age that family members can continue under an employee’s FEHB policy.
