New Initiative for Targeted Disabilities

Meanwhile, EEOC has announced a new initiative for creating greater opportunity in federal agencies for individuals with targeted disabilities – identified as blindness, deafness, partial paralysis, complete paralysis, mental illness, mental retardation, convulsive disorders, and distortion of limbs or spine. Fewer than 1 percent of federal employees fall into those categories, reflecting a continuing decline in that percentage over recent years.
