The Thrift Savings Plan has delayed yet again a package of changes linked to a new computer system, saying that while the system itself was delivered on time, the TSP wanted to conduct further tests before putting it online. The announcement was made just as the TSP entered a transition period into the new system, which had been set to launch September 15. The TSP now expects to launch the system in November, although it likely will be about another month until a date is set. The transition period’s dates will be determined at that time as well. The legislation authorizing the changes was passed in 1996 and the project has been delayed numerous times in the intervening years, at one point prompting a change in contractors.
